    Jamil Wilson 5 Stars

Wow, didn't see this one coming. Jumped from a 3 to 5 and we're sitting very well with him, except we haven't offered him yet? I think it's about time we start throwing a little more offers at some big men.

    Re: Jamil Wilson 5 Stars

ya thats cool.. but since when do we all care about stars so much?? im not saying its a bad thing by any means.. but really who cares how many stars a player has.. if they fit the system.. i am sure they will work out....no matter what "star level" they have..

im not trying to get into some type of argument over this either...

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

i know the stars are not exact, but 90% of the time 5 stars are legit. 3's and 4's are not . that's why i'm happy about it.

I agree, when it comes to 3-4 star players I think it is important how they fit in the system... Five star players have often been seen by enough people to know they are truely legit and the type of guys you can modify systems around...

I don't know how reliable this source is but according to this, our staff has offered Wilson, along with Wisconsin.

Scout calls him an impact player yet according to their review he can't score inside, mid range or outside. How does he become 5 stars???

By the time he finishes his junior year, he'll be writing his own ticket to any school he wants.

    Yea, he's that good.

Quoting milwaukeehoops.com, "He has a strong handle, excellent court vision and can score inside, by slashing to the hole, or by knocking down shots with range out to the three-point arc."

He averaged 18.3 points a game as a sophomore for Racine Horlick and he plays in a very good conference. He's very quick and has a great handle. On his AAU team, he even brings the ball up the court half the time. He is the top-ranked recruit in the state of Wisconsin for the class of 2009. Don't hold your breath on this one. Although it's early yet, look for him to end up at Marquette or Wisconsin.

Some do, some don't. I'm with you on not caring about stars since I know what goes into them. Let people who revel in stars enjoy it.

That's the first thing I was looking for after I saw he was 6-6. That's not exactly "big man" hieght.

    Re: Jamil Wilson 5 Stars

I'm basing my comments by what I've actually seen with this kid, not by the number of stars or some outdated info on some web site. I don't know how scout.com came up with that analysis but they are definitely off-base on this one. The ISU staff would take this kid in a heartbeat.

    Re: Jamil Wilson 5 Stars

Stars do matter. Look at the Ohio State recruiting class last year. It was not they system they were in. It was the talent they brought in. Teams that land 5 star guys compete for national championships. Teams that don't make the sweet 16. I want a national Championship.

    Re: Jamil Wilson 5 Stars

If we have to settle for sweet 16 the next few years, I'm willing to give Coach McD the benefit of the doubt and not call for his dismissal.
