In all reality, Colorado and Boise State going to the Mountain West does make a lot of sense both geographically and economically. Those moves would make the conference a legit BCS conference with automatic bids.
I haven't posted on this lately but I am just hoping that ISU doesn't get left in the dust and in a conference like Conference USA or the MAC.
Kansas would bring a top five basketball program and a football program on a par with Missouri, a school being mentioned for Big Ten expansion. Kansas State has sunk millions into coaches' salaries and facilities the past 20 years in an effort to stay competitive. Iowa State doesn't bring a market or much athletic excellence but still has more juice than Boise State.
KSU is what? 2 pts better than us in FB and not a bowl qualifier. Currently on a decent run in MBB (last conf championship was 1980 - and people think we're futile) and what else? Na-da.
Not sure I'm holding on to the idea that KU fb is on par with Mizzou (frankly, I think both have seen their day in the sun, but we'll see)
I know on the whole, nobody cares... but seems to me in these discussions that Directors Cup standing of top 20-25 (?) should carry some weight for ISU. Particularly in terms of the MWC.
