Interesting but why would the Big 10 want Colorado?

This scenario would be logical and sensible cyclonefan. So that means no chance in hell, but good thought out of you!

Nebraska's and Missouri's are too focused on joining the Big 10.

Colorado is too focused on joining the Pac 10.

Oklahoma is too focused on what Texas is going to do, and OSU is too focused on staying on OU's coattails for as long as they can.

Quite literally, ISU has three chances in not fading into obscurity:
    1. This is all a power play and Nebraska toes Texas' line
    2. ISU is able to hitch on to Nebraska's and Missouri's coattails, with the help of Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Penn St, and surprise the hell out of everyone nationally and ride into the Big 10
    3. ISU, KU, and K-State form an alliance either entering the MWC or forming a formidable conference out of the MWC and the ruins of the Big East and ACC.

Otherwise, say goodbye to ISU relevancy. And if this happens I become EXTREMELY anti-Iowa - how could I in good conscience be okay with a school when a large number of their fans are very publicly cheering on our demise? Because I'm a loyal Iowan? Not good enough for me...

I don't see the Big 10 spanning 3 time zones just for one team.

I think the time zone thing is a big draw back, unless Denver had 15 milion tv sets , then it would be OK.

Does Denver even care about College FB?

doesnt matter, as long as a potential network gets their per-subscriber money.

What we really need is congress to pass ala carte legislation on cable/dish. Then if you don't want to pay for the crap, you don't get the channel. That would take alot of money out of the Big Ten Network and my favorite, Turner Network.

Turner Network pushes this crap as they force customers to take 6 channels few people care about if you want TBS and TNT.

THIS. If it wasn't that every idiot had to unknowingly put their dollar into the big10 anti with their cable bill the network wouldn't have legs. And joe schmo doesn't even care or know he just wants his reality TV and mindlessly pays it. He wouldn't pay for the big10 network if he didn't have to.

If Texa$$ is so set on keeping the Big XII together, they have an easy way to do that. They currently have 9 votes (OU, BU, OSU, Overdrawn, Texas Technical(ly), Texa$$, Iowa State, K-State, and Kansas) to jack up the leaving fee so high Nebby, Mizzou, and sCUm would never dream of leaving. That boxes them in too, but if they are really "committed" why not?

The reason why this won't happen is because Texas loses leverage in this situation because it takes the "we'll blow this conference up if you don't toe our line" card out of their hand. Yeah, it's nice to put a hefty fine in place as a deterrent to leaving, but if the ultimatums and fines don't keep them there, then Texas would have to pay that fine themselves in order to join the Pac 10 - and while they certainly have the votes to put the fine in place, they're going to fall one vote short to overturn it if they decide to leave. You think the 4 schools getting screwed in the process are going to back away from the consequences of playing their trump card? I wouldn't...

Denver absolutely cares about College FB. They just don't necessarily care about the local teams. Most everyone is from somewhere else, so alums bring their own allegiances with them.
In LODO by Coors Field, I'm always amazed at how much business the bars do on Saturday mornings to show games for Michigan State, Clemson, and many others.
