    From Lincoln

I was in Lincoln for the past several days helping a friend move and went out to many Lincoln establishments supporting the ISU gear the whole time, got a lot of 8 turnover blah blah blah, but also came away with away thinking a few things. Several times talking to people on expansion, they believe Nebraska and Mizzou are all but gone to the Big 10, but they know that academics are not their of Mizzou's strong point. Several Husker fans believe for the ADs in the Big 10 to get Nebraska and Mizzou in they must satisfy the Presidents by adding an ISU. I for one don't think ISU has a shot at the Big 10, but as several of them mentioned, this will help our cause. Also with Texas, KU, and KSU all now out the picture they will need academics to get approval from the Presidents. I find this all ironic when I see the comments on ESPN from the MSU Presidents. On another note, Husker fans no longer want any part of the Big 12 if no changes (expansion) occur. They would honestly move to the MWC as Texas will be stronger than ever and I fully agree with them on this. If the Big 12 stays in-tact, will there be a stronger college in college sports? I think that is scary.

If Nebraska was succesful in making a case for the Big Ten to take ISU, I may have to change my thoughts on what is a bigger rivalry game. Nebraska vs Iowa now becomes huge, as Nebraska would have all their fans and all of our fans backing them!

If the Big12 is still intact after all the meetings etc this summer I will be amazed. However, it is just a matter of time before it's gone. I don't blame Nebraska or its fans at all. Texas is in control and they know it. That is why they are looking to get out and are almost tempting the Big 12 to give them more power. I support what Nebraska is doing by taking a stand. All 11 other schools need to do it.

More specifically, The Big Ten network. Because of that stupid network, every conference is now money hungry by trying to add a network, expand to more teams to add more TV sets, and etc.

    Not true.

Anybody from west of Highway 71 will cheer for Iowa

NU isn't taking a stand by what they are doing now. However, NU could have "taken a stand" by voting for complete revenue sharing in the Big 12 when it has come up at past meetings, thus providing the ninth vote necessary to enact it.

Why didn't NU vote for complete revenue sharing at past meetings? Because deep down, NU is just as greedy and power hungry (if not more), than UT. It backfired on them, and now they are cutting and running.

How dare they do what is best each and every member of the Big11. I'm glad we are fotunate enough to have Texas know what is best for ISU and the whole confrence. This is why Texas should get the additional money they do.

    Re: From Lincoln

Don't know if this is the right place, but since we're talking about NU I'll put it here.

What "teeth" are behind this utilmatum given NU and Mizzou. And why did only those two get the ultimatum? Texas has been dancing with everyone it would seem. I understand that Beebe has a UT #1 on his speed-dial, so it stands to reason that they aren't held to any standard. But still....

What keeps Mizzou or NU from saying "oh yeah, we're committed", then in 6 months when the Big 10 calls, they go ahead and bolt? Honor? Integrity? ()

    Re: From Lincoln

Hmmmm......then what is it that Nebraska wants? They have voted against revenue sharing in the past.

Nebraska thought they would be the big bully of the Big XII. Instead they have slid a bit toward mediocrity. Moving to the Big Ten won't really change that.

THIS....nebr and its fans especially are arrogant and aren't happy unless they are the center of attention. For as much as they say they hate Tex, they sided with them when it really counted. If the B12 folds and ISU is left out to dry I will despise them even more than I do now and all their fans who only care about football and don't give a crap about the univ itself.

I love it when we get back to back brilliant posts that I am in total agreement with.

Bugeaters? They are looking out for their own interests, period. Hell, they even had to steal the name Huskers from the University of Iowa, look it up. Nevermind the fact that they are all lined up on our western border, waiting to invade. How convenient that so much of Nebraska's population is within a half hour of Iowa. They are up to something, and they are sneaky. Do not trust them.

You know who else wore red like that and bragged about it, don't you? The British. And look what those guys did. Burnt the White House and everything. Same with the Huskers. Devious.
