If Neb stays and MU goes then who's the 12 team?

The Big 12's ultimatum really is geared toward Nebraska, according to OrangeBloods.com. The conference believes it could survive without Missouri but not without the Cornhuskers

Before I really knew that this whole thing would explode into what it has become I just thought maybe we get a team out of the FCS. But now that this is all turning into "doomsday" I could see going after Cincy.

Re: If Neb stays and MU goes then who's the 12 team?

Well it's according to OrangeBloods.com so its got a nice Texas slant, I think Mizzou is more vital than we realize because of the KC/StL market they do provide.

However to answer your question in the topic, we add some school with the academic qualifications of the Big XII and the size of school to have the ability to be an athletic competitor, with bonus points being a school from the North so there is no division realignment. That being said, I really don't know what schools fit the bill, so someone else delve into that.

Edit: After reading first post, I like Cincy. Really fits the qualifications all around and they probably would be in favor of a move out of the Big East, which has become a second tier AQ BCS conference.

How many teams would it take to waive the buyout before they left. I think its 8 or 9.

If its 8 they could obviously just waive it for themselves. If its 9, they could still do it if baylor and CU went pac 10, and TAMU went SEC.

Someone on here said it's 9 members to change the bylaws so unless everyone's settled except 3 from us, KU, K State and Baylor, we'll be in for a short term windfall.

I honestly think if we lose just one team, we target BYU.

Why all the A&M to the SEC talk? Not gonna happen.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

Its going to be interesting to see if this is what happens because in less they changed the divisons that team will be in the north

I would venture a MWC team like BYU or Utah if JUST Missouri left...

Really ? The A&M president has said that they aren't fully likeing the move to the Pac 10 because of the travel and before the Big 12 was formed the SEC and A&M were talking about going together

probably a case of spending too much time browsing some aggie boards today.

I think Louisville would be our best possible option. They have some great basketball tradition.

I say the big12 goes after Memphis or TCU.

Since when does losing Missouri mean the KC and Stl markets are gone?? Just becuase both of those cities happen to be in the state of Missouri doesn't mean you are going to lose the market. If you go by distance KU is closer to KC then MU is anyways.

    Seriously?

They're completely isolated from the rest of the conference, not regional, and have no tradition with any of the schools. I'd believe you if you said Houston or Utah, but Cincy? Never gonna happen.
