    Does Nebraska Have Options?

Up to this point all the talk has been about Nebraska to the Big 10. If the Pac 10 +6 scenario comes true, why wouldn't Nebraksa throw their name in the ring to join the Pac 16 assuming the $ are close?
    • Colorado and Oklahoma are much bigger historical rivals for the Huskers than any school the Big 10 could offer.
    • Nebraska in the Pac 16 continues to provide them visibility in Texas and increases their exposure in California. Having access to 2 of the 3 biggests states from a football recruiting standpoint would be huge. I believe the Huskers have historically liked to recruit NJ- but Cali is much better.
    • From a recruiting standpoint, what is more attractive? Road games in Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, California, Oregon & Washington or going to Iowa, Minnesota, Wisky, Indiana, you get the picture.
    • There are a ton of Husker fans who live in the SW. Nebraksa FB fans travel well, but I gotta believe they'd get more fans to Arizona & So Cal games than to most Big 10 locations.
    • I think the Pac 16 would make more sense for Olympic sport programs like Baseball & Volleyball.
I think the only thing that would make this a non-starter (other than $), is if the 3 Texas public universities are a package deal. IMO Nebraska is a much better option than Texas Tech.

They better start getting their OSU smear campaign geared up, probably their best bet if they're not actually a Big Ten front-runner.

    Re: Does Nebraska Have Options?

This may sound stupid, but wouldn't a lot of the Husker fans living in the Southwest be a little old to get out to the games?

    Re: Does Nebraska Have Options?

They may not. I'm not sold that they are a shoe-in for the B10. If Texas just masterminded this plan in order to call their bluff, the Pac 10 may not be able to invite Nebby.

The way it sounds, UT will make sure that A&M and TT can go with them wherever they go.

    Re: Does Nebraska Have Options?

I think the problem is Texa$$, overdrawn/ aTm, and Texas Techinically come as a package deal as do OU and Okie State. That leaves sCUm and Nebby to fight it out and they want that Denver market. Adv: sCUm

    Re: Does Nebraska Have Options?

Was there any mention of Nebraska or Mizzou in the uncovered emails between the Ohio St president and B10 commisioner? I didn't think there was or at least I didn't see it reported. That tells me they were only after Texas.

Didn't think about that. Good point. I actually think that Mizzou and Nebby stuck with us would be a better scenario.
