    Re: The Heartland

Interesting. I don't think the end of the Big 12 would be the death of ISU. There are certainly financial advantages to membership in the Big 12, but also some disadvantages. Their tv package is comparable with a mid-major league. ISU will never challenge the "haves" of the Big 12 financially. A new conference like that would give the Cyclones a much more level playing field in football, and an exciting conference in basketball. Whatever happens, go Cyclones.

Nice to see that not everyone is going to bail on ISU when this goes down, I think a lot of people are considering it...

    Re: The Heartland

That author is an idiot. Conferences would realign for football, and it would be ISU, KU, KSU, and Baylor to the MWC, which would become an AQ league with that injection.

This is what I want to know:

If Texas wants their own network, and more revenue, WHY IN THE HELL would they join a larger conference with equal sharing that forces them into it's own network which they would share with USC?

I'd think they'd go independent if the Big 12 dies.

I also think Texas goes independent if the Big XII dies. Texas is a big fish in a big pond. They can start their own network.
