Here are some thoughts on the upcoming football season. I was hoping to inspire some discussion, so please weigh in with your thoughts or scenarios as well.

Klein, Williams, Sims, Parker, Shontrelle Johnson, AA, @Oklahoma (they will have backups in early to give us a TD or 2), @Iowa (not sure what Iowa did to get ready for home games last year, but I sure hope they continue whatever that was), Utah, and Colorado (this is my most confident pick)

    Khaal-

Good article, I think you hit on a lot of topics that are on the minds of CFers.

Unfortunately I missed the spring game so I dont have a lot of input on some of the newer players at LB. I'm excited to see the athleticism that is projected. Hopefully this will allow for some momentum shifting plays by the young guys.

If our D will be as good or better than last year we need Parker to step up and get some pressure on the QB or at least draw double teams to allow others to make plays. If we cannot create pressure our young LBs will be need to grow up very fast.

My hope is that you are wrong on the rushing touchdown question. I think that AA will get his but I guess I'm optimistic that Arob will break a few long TD's and get the edge.

“It’s beyond pride. It’s a restored trust. There’s a confidence again, a passion that teeters on swagger. More than anything, (Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoads) has restored the Iowa State “it” factor, the steadfast belief that it is great to be a Cyclone...the man’s enthusiasm is genuine to the core...”

I firmly believe that Shontrelle Johnson has the talent to be a great RB at Iowa State. I recently came across his signing day interview with a local TV station. I smiled when listened to his apparent confidence in his abilities. Just not totally sure that he grasps what a "Big 12 pounding" feels like.
