    Association of American Universities

The following is a link to the website of the Association of American Universities: http://www.aau.edu/

The AAU is an association of 63 leading public and private research universities in the United States and Canada. There are 7 Big XII members in the AAU of which Iowa State is one. The other six are Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Texas, and Texas A&M. Among other things, the AAU pools its resources to receive federal academic research expenditures. In 2007 this figure was $17.2 BILLION. That is a huge figure. This is why many believe Iowa State will not be left out of a major conference. It is worth the time to explore the AAU website. If you are a conspiracy theorist you may just believe that the Presidents of the 63 current AAU member institutions are the equivalent of what Freemasons were in the late 18th century.

    Go AAU and Go Cyclones!!!

What role do you think AAU membership will have in conference re-alignment?
