    Geocaching

Does anyone out there go geocashing? Thought it would be stupid, but went yesterday and found it to be kinda cool, we found some interesting things! Where do you get a GPS like that?

    re: Geocaching

Is that like geocaching but there's money hidden instead of little trinkets?

    Re: Geocaching

I've been out a time or two. I was very skeptical prior to going as well, but I found it enjoyable each time. I think it is neat to see just how accurate the gps is. I got my garmin online but I knew what I wanted before I got it. I think most systems are set up to cache. I just plugged into my pc, and was able to download some locations to my handheld off a website.

    Re: Geocaching

What would be the best GPS tool for geocaching? I want to do it, I just don't know what GPS to get.

Do you have to have one of these to do it? Cause that would be pretty cool.....

    Re: Geocaching

I like to go caching but my two GPS units aren't accurate enough to find some of the caches. One GPS is about 12 years old and the other is my iPhone (which is only accurate to around 50ft). I covet the Garmin 60CSx. It's supposed to be the best option for geocaching. REI had them on sale for $200 but that sale might be over by now.

    Re: Geocaching

Oh yeah, the family and I go a couple of times the month. The kids love the toy exchange and it's a nice way to enjoy the outdoors. I have to remind myself to watch out though because I darn near picked up a black snake that decided to take a nap in the hollow log where one cache was.

    Cheers
