    Any amateur sleuths?

    Professor's*fiery death troubles*cowboy town - CNN.com

    Was it a hate crime?
How did he get into the hills with a broken hip?
How did he bind his hands and then burn himself to death?

    Interesting.

    Re: Any amateur sleuths?

He disappeared from this city of 5,600 in December. Police saw no signs he planned on leaving and have acknowledged they did little to search for the professor.
"We could've searched these remote areas for days and days and days, but where do you start?" said acting Chadron Police Chief Margaret Keiper.

Gee, I hope local authorities would be this thorough if I were missing.

It sounds like they went through the Cyclone62 Detective School. "Well, my wallet's missing. Is it in my pants? Nope, well, I don't know where else to look so case closed."

Did Clones_jer just see Cyclone62 refer to himself in the third person? Pretty high on himself ...

I don't think naming my Detective School after myself is really referring to myself in the third person. Nice try though.

Sounds like the broken hip was suffered two years ago.

I get a bit of a kick on how they suggest he was overly careful walking about, and insinuate that would prevent him from heading to the hills - as if somebody who is about to commit suicide would worry about falling or injuring themselves.

    Sounds fishy. Kinda Matthew Shepard-ish.

Nice...That's some great policing there. Maybe try the last few places he was seen? I would hope that searching the remote areas is not out of the question. Doesn't that happen alot for hikers and so?
