    Niles Paul Arrested In Lincoln

Nebraska wide receiver Niles Paul was arrested in Lincoln over the weekend for minor consumption (of alcohol). A year ago he wasn't allowed to participate in either spring drills or the spring game for another alcohol-related incident. As a Husker fan, I am hoping Bo Pelini sends a much stronger statement to this young man this time around. He obviously didn't learn from his last incident, so I would think Bo should see whether three or four games on the shelf might get through his thick skull this time. I understand kids will be kids, but...Stupid, stupid, stupid!

Re: Niles Paul Arrested In Lincoln

As a second offense as a minor, I would think that strong punishment should be coming from both the coaches and the legal system. I don't think that 3 or 4 games is enough for a second offense (yes I would think the same thing for Iowa State players).

I say that we bench him for the ISU game and then let him play.

For a couple of MIPs? I would think 4 games is plenty. What would you advocate?

I would agree, unless he plans on dropping the ball as he's running into the endzone again.

even if they booted him off the team, it would take Nebraska super fan, and some sports talking heads 2.7 seconds to come out and say their Offense wiould be better without him.....

Re: Niles Paul Arrested In Lincoln

Isn't this guy going to be a redshirt junior? Did he graduate high school at 16 or what?

MIP's are what they are, never good to get arrested, but 4 games is plenty long and I don't think 1 or 2 is going soft or anything.

LOL. You want the kid to go to jail for having a beer?

Unless things have changed in Iowa. MIP's were simply a ticket when I was there a few years ago. Something like $150 for the first one, $300 for the second, and so on.

For all of you who want Paul punished strongly I hope you feel the even stronger about Long. What he has done has been worse IMO.

It's all snark from here on out
