Hoiberg and staff recruiting east coast???

    Scout.com: Kareem Canty Profile

    Scout.com: T.O.C.: Day Three Rundown

I like what I see. The east coast (NY, MA, PA) is stacked with a ton of talent, and I'm glad that the staff is shifting their recruiting efforts out there. The last time we had a team of east coast players, we were pretty darn good and most importantly tough.

Assuming that T.J. is the one recruiting Canty, it seems to me that he has recognized other areas to recruit aside from using his connections in Wisconsin or through his former AAU team. For example Odunsi from Texas, McKnight, and now Canty from New York.

Agree with us recruiting the east coast hard and I think we will have a few foreign players once Hoiberg gets things rolling.

Clark, Stinson, Blalock...I'd say the east coast has been nice to the basketball team in the recent past. It'd be nice to see that pipeline opened up again.

Agree, it will also be interesting to see what kind of impact Grayer has with the Flint and MI area overall.

    "Clark, Stinson, Blalock..."

To say nothing of Tinsley (Brooklyn) and Nurse (Teaneck) - 40% of our best team ever.

One of our all-time best post players, the former Don Smith (now Zaid Abdul Aziz) is also from NYC

Re: Hoiberg and staff recruiting east coast???

Mac's offense was a tough sell to East Coast players. Fred's style of play should really draw some interest nationally. That being said I think this staff is going to bring in kids from all over the globe and I don't think you'll see a recruiting strategy that limits him to midwest recruiting (mainly Wisconsin the way it looks). I love looking at the goegraphics of this years class and how we drew kids from every corner of the country.

Brackins and Ejim were both from Brewster in N.H., too.
