    KC

The Mrs. and I were in KC this past weekend having a good time. Fantastic weather down there compared to the DSM area.

Went to the Plaza Saturday to enjoy the weather and take some photos. While in the downtown/Westport area - we were able to get a look at the new facility that will host the Big 12 tournament in '08.

Wow...is that thing big! We were not too close to it, yet it looks amazing. Also, we drove right by Kelly's (didn't get a chance to go in). If I would've had the camera ready, I would've snapped off a few photos of each. Sadly, I was unprepared.

We'll be back this summer though. Yet, can't wait to make the trip next March!

    Re: KC

I was also down there this weekend for a wedding and it was HOT. It was like 89 degrees on Saturday and very humid...it did rain pretty much all day Sunday.

I also saw the construction of the Sprint Center (I think that's what they are calling it) and I'll echo 22's statements...the thing is massive.

I'll be down there again in a few weeks for a bachelor party. Kelly's, Royals game, and Worlds of Fun are on the agenda mixed in with several refreshing adult beverages.

Strangely enough, there was a wedding party in the Plaza getting some photos taken when we were there.

Aren't they incorporating the new College Basketball Hall of Fame into the Sprint Center? Is that part of the reason the arena is so big?

Here is a webcam that lets you watch the construction of the Sprint Center...not as exciting now that the outside is more complete...but it is useful to see how the weather is in KC:

What does everyone think of the architecture? It looks like a very functional facility, but I'm not sure about the aesthetics. I thought a lot of glass was missing or broken out, but that appears to be by design.

Yeah well, ya know, that's just, like uh, your opinion, man.
