    Yeah, they'll never touch Kansas.

I believe it was Tark who said,"The NCAA is so mad at Kentucky they're going to put Cleveland State on probation."

    Re: Kansas Ticket Scandal

that sounds like more of an individual liablity thing rather than sanctions against the basketball team. The basketball team had nothing to do with it.

This is just a really, really odd story, because you just never see "Kansas" and "scandal" used together in the context of college MBB...

    Re: Kansas Ticket Scandal

My thinking was that this was their allotment of tickets and representatives from their ticket office and even the father of a current player were involved thus putting a target on the program. They probably will only lose their allotment of tickets for the foreseeable future, but fishy given the involvment of Roger Morningstar, who is a former player, father of a current one, and coached a team for the Pumps.

    Re: Kansas Ticket Scandal

So THAT's who those d-bags were that tried to be jerks about it in 2002-2004 at the Big 12 Tourney when we were scalping our tickets for $20 less than what they were selling them for. I always got a kick out of standing my ground to the big bad scalpers on my price and then low-balling them when somebody came by

Im just glad I have Homan as my bodyguard, Eustachy joked. If I ever make it real big and get to drive a limo everyday, hell be driving it. I thought he came off the bench like somebody was stealing his cow or something.

    Re: Kansas Ticket Scandal

Maybe after the dominos of the conference realignment are done falling and KU is left without a chair, the NCAA will finish this investigation. The only way that this comes to something is if Kansas has already become irrelevant just like what's going to happen to USC in the next few years.

    Re: Kansas Ticket Scandal

KU won't get touched by anything and scumbag Lew Perkins will get away unharmed as well.

The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.

    Re: Kansas Ticket Scandal

I don't know much about this other than what has been in articles on the internet, but I will say that Roger Morningstar has always been a really good guy through my interactions with him. Freeman, on the other hand, has always seemed like a complete scumbag. I know they used to be business partners, but I think Morningstar ended that relationship when Freeman started getting more-and-more shady. I'll be very interested to see what comes of all of this.

I don't, however, foresee any real punishment against the basketball team for this, such as a loss of scholarships or forfeited wins, and don't really know why there should be. Unless I'm missing something, and maybe I am, it doesn't seem like anyone within the basketball staff or team committed any impropriety.

KU is holding a press conference at 1pm today to discuss the findings of their own investigation, which I believe will be carried live by kusports.com, if anyone is interested.

    Re: Kansas Ticket Scandal

Looks like there is a fed investigation into this scalping fiasco. Already, some KU athletic officials have resigned as a result. Looks like this scalping ring could be really big. We'll see after the feds do their thing.
