    BREAKING NEWS!! (MLB)

ESPN.com - MLB - Clemens announced to crowd he'll play for Yanks

NEW YORK -- Roger Clemens returned to the New York Yankees, making a dramatic announcement to fans from the owner's box during Sunday's game against the Seattle Mariners.
Clemens, who is close friends with Yankees pitcher Andy Pettitte, said Pettitte is going to be upset with him because he kept the news quiet. The two talked as recently as Saturday night and Clemens didn't share the news. "It's time to go to work," Clemens said. "I've got a lot of work to do, to get back up here."

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

It's obvious he's doing it just for the money. If it was just for the love of the game, he would've gone to Houston. If it was about winning a ring, he would've gone to Boston.

That's why they're going to pay him more than any other team would.

there's not a lot of players left that would do it for free, he doesn't owe Houston anything... why should he have to make less?

Oh and just so I'm not pigeon-holed as a Yank lover, I don't like baseball whatsoever ... I'll call my teams the Royals because it close, but whatever.

I saw Torii Hunter interviewed. They asked if he'd be a Twin next year. He said, "Probably not." When asked why, he said he'd go somewhere they'd pay him more money. Personally I appreciate the honesty. (Plus he's got to be tired of playing in that dome.)

The Yankees have just as good of shot of winning the W.S. as Boston, especially now that Clemens is back. Once their starting pitching comes around, they are going to make a comeback and win the division, much like they have the last few years. Also, how much money was he offered to play by the Yankees. It couldn't have been much more that the 20 million that the Astros paid last year. He just wants to end off his career where he enjoyed it the most.

That is too bad. He is my favorite Twin. I'm hoping the Twin's bats heat up, because the pitching staff don't have the arms they did last year.

    Re: BREAKING NEWS!! (MLB)

This really upsets me as a sports fan they way Clemens has handled these past two years. If he really wants to play that bad, then go join a fast-pitch softball league somewhere. As he is a mentor to the young kids, his lack of effort to join the ball club during spring training and at the beginning of the season is ridiculous. You have all offeseason to make theses decisions, it should not carry into the regular season.

    All about EGO...!

What did he get 4 million per win last year...great Stats.....?

This is one of the reasons why I have boycotted pro sports for the last 10 years, it is out of control...
