Des Moines makes list of 10 Best Cities for the Next Decade

Another honor rolls in for Des Moines as Kiplingers magazine lists Des Moines as #7 on their 10 Best Cities for the Next Decade

10 Best Cities for the Next Decade - Kiplinger

These lists come and go and aren't exactly scientific, but are sure nice recognition. This follows making a similar list for Forbes a few weeks ago.

Having Topeka on that list invalidates the whole thing. It would be one of the last places I would want to live for the next 10 years.

yep if Topeka is on any list that isn't "places you wouldn't send your biggest enemy" then the list is crap. People from Topeka hate Topeka.

The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.

You should. Tulsa is a better town than Topeka. and Tulsa makes Wichita look like Dubai.

so what I'm saying is that Wichita is better than Topeka, and that is sad.

have you spent any time in any of them? Tulsa is a great town. New York is great too, but I dont want to raise kids there.

i have spent lots of time in all of them. Tulsa is HORRIBLE. Wichitard is maybe the place where Osama is hiding, but nobody will go there to look for him, and well Topeka...at least they get to house that fantastic Kansas state government!!

and please lets not compare Tulsa to NYC. Please, please, please don't do that.

but because of the Kansas State schools they don't know they are bored. They just think Jesus hasn't called them yet.
