Getting ahead of the rumors - dignity gone

OK, before rumors start coming out about last night, I'll expose my foolishness...

So, I turn 25 today and for my birthday I went bowling with my wife and two best friends (guitarchitect7 & his fiance). Well, I haven't gone bowling in about 8 years so I was bound to make a fool of myself one way or another.

This is where it gets good (well not for me)...

We get everything setup and I'm the first one up to bowl. I get set and take off like a mad-man galloping (I guess you'd call it) towards the release of the ball. I let it go and boom. No, I didn't get a strike, I fell flat on my *** Feet flying upward, dignity crashing downwards

Oh and by the way, if your whole body goes past that little red line, they don't count it as a legit frame, too bad cause it was probably the best shot I had all night

So, before the rumors start spreading about how plowed I was, I had not been drinking and was as sober as could be. Now, I may be drinking heavily today but it's just to get my self-mojo back.

I pulled a similar move, but playing broomball. Let's just say I pulled a charlie brown and ended up flat on my back going for a goal. Happens to the best of us.

    Happy Birthday man!

Wow, I had no idea you were only 25 years old, half as old as I am. For some reason I thought you had to be much older than that.

Being a season ticket holder since the 70s, I can think of no other time the stars of our program are so young and promising. The talent starts at the top and flows from there, Dr. Geofrey, JP, the new coaches, fresh young talent like Chris Williams, Bret Blum, Jeremy, the young talent at the Daily and those behind the scenes, does anyone else think we are onto a young Microsoft or Google? It's like Timbuk3 sang in the 80s, "The futures so bright, I gotta were shades".

Sounds like a CF bowling party needs to be organized. I'll bring the camera.

Someone else can bring a helmet and pads for Jeremy.

I'd be up for that! Haven't bowled in years, but I was in a league at one time. Got my own ball and shoes too.

Bought these Dexter shoes: Dexter Bowling, they were like $120. I wasn't married at the time, which pretty much explains how I got away with that one. They are cool shoes though, have different soles and heals that can be swapped out for approach conditions. Yes, I am a nerd....

Re: Getting ahead of the rumors - dignity gone

Jeremy, let me advise you on another thing not to do while bowling. In high school I decided to get cocky and try bowling without the thumb hole. Needless to say when the ball hit the floor straight down my hand went through the motion and my fingers and the ball hit the floor severely spraining both fingers. So yes you don't have to be drunk to do dumb things bowling.
