    A Study on Dumplings

What is a Dumpling? What is your favorite way to cook dumplings?

I grew up thinking that dumplings were made from bisquick cooked over the meat and broth, but in other places a dumpling is a large fat noodle. I have also had boiled biscuits as a dumpling.

My grandma makes them from scratch using flour. She gives them as a desert in milk, sugar, and cinnamon. Yumyumyum

Even though I'm mostly German that is now what I think of when it comes to dumplings. Obviously there are tons of kinds out there but these here are my favorite. Don't get to make these very much but it is a treat when i do.

The Chicken and Dumplings at Knott's Berry Farm are the best I ever had. I also love Chinese Dumplings steamed with Pork, Ginger, Garlic, Green Onions, Salt and Pepper.

xiao long bao is soupy on the inside because of the gelatin that is mixed with the meat filling.
