Singn Up for Mafia LVI - The Cicco Family Part II

I know the other game isn't over yet, but wanted to allow more time for sign up for those who aren't playing.

This will be a classic game of Mafia.

Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.

Classic as in the "True" origins of what mafia is - not how we've played it thus far. Bare to the bones, good old deceiving Mafia.

    EDIT: Rules have changed.

Alright, I'll ask before the next game starts - does everyone else prefer the old way???

The most important thing is player participation and if the rules I'm trying to implement are going to shy people away from playing, then I would much rather use what will gain interests and involvement.

I'm all about making changes and I've enjoyed the games where there are new roles that can do certain things. The problem I see with the voting the way you have it is that no one wants to make that last vote. Then we end up sitting around for hours until someone comes on at 3 a.m. or 8 a.m. and makes the vote, just so the game can continue.

We've learned that most people won't change their vote unless something major comes up or that is how they play the game. If TheCaptain wouldn't have changed at 8 a.m. this morning, we might still be looking for yesterday's 7th vote.

    Just my opinion.

I agree with this. I love everything else you're doing this game. But I'd much rather prefer the old way of voting

    Two notes:

    Thanks for speaking your thoughts.

In all honesty, that's the idea behind the last vote, or like last night certain people having to switch their vote. It's gets away from the mindset of casting random votes to stay away from suspicion and instead hopefully forces conversation to get people to switch because it seems like the best vote, versus just switching so the day can end.

I'm actually surprised there isn't more switching - cast a vote and see the response, cast another vote and see that response. See how people react when their being targeted. Get a small run on them, and see what happens.

Any way, my compromise was what I tried to lay out above. Instead of a certain number, the group has to come to a consensus for a majority vote. There is no set number, so the last vote could be any number, but as long as there is a majority and hopefully sparks those strategic conversations and theories that really make the game fun. I don't know how many times I see a vote with no explanation and no other posts before or after saying why they voted that way. To me, that doesn't help anyone and adds nothing to the game play (I just might make that a rule).

    Second point:

But I'm more than willing to do what those who are actually playing would like. I would hate to turn someone away just because of that. You enjoy it, others enjoy playing with you, etc., etc. It seems silly to push something that the majority may or may not want.
