    Mediacom customers in MN

Howdy folks. I'm moving soon and may have a choice between Comcast and Mediacom.

Do any current Minnesotan Mediacom customers know if Mediacom in Minnesota covers any of the ISU content that is locally produced by Mediacom?

Of course the comparison between the two providers has many other dimensions, my only goal here is to see if it will get me any more fb games on TV.

Absolutely no question. Go with Comcast.

I don't know about MN, but my brother lives in KC and has comcast and it's lightyears ahead of mediacom in terms of customer service, products, and quality.

And even on mediacom connections 22 that shows the occasional ISU even in Iowa there aren't any football games shown on it that I can recall.

The Mediacom in MN is the same as the one in Iowa from what I have heard, friends say they get a lot of Davenport sporting events on the connections channel.

Typically the opening Thursday night game has been on Mediacom.

Also FWIW, my dad lives in MN and has Comcast and he gripes about it every chance he gets...not sure why, but he doesn't care for it.

    But they DO have:

*1-hour FB replays for each game
*A dozen or so live MBB and WBB games
    *The occasional WR/VB/GYM event
    *Coaches' shows

    Re: Mediacom customers in MN

I use to have Comcast and recently moved and have Mediacom now. (no longer could have Comcast) I didn't have any issues with Comcast and haven't used Mediacom much yet to know if I will like it. The Mediacom bundle is much cheaper than the bundle pack I had from Comcast.

    Re: Mediacom customers in MN

I have been the customer of both companies and would say that Comcast has been head and shoulders above Mediacom. The customer service has been better, the channel package is better, and the internet speeds are higher. As far as price, I think they were almost identical, you could get the triple play for $99 as a new customer when I made the switch, which was the same deal Mediacom had at the time.

I don't know how Comcast stacks up in the area that you live in, but I would take them over Mediacom even if the local Mediacom picked up a few ISU event on the connections channel.

Mediacom is not offered in my area. My only option for cable is Charter. It's not bad, but doesn't cover ISU athletics unless the game is on a major network.

I have been told by friends in MN that they can indeed watch ISU content on Connections (22, or whatever channel it is in their area).

    Re: Mediacom customers in MN

Thanks for the feedback. Comcast has given me a few gripes over the past 10 years, but for the most part, their product is very good. The techs that come over have been very helpful with their insights and helping with bad connectors, etc. I have aggressive squirrels here so I was a frequent customer.

    Re: Mediacom customers in MN

My family in the cities has Comcast. As a Mediacom customer in Ames, I would say I definitely would prefer Mediacom over Comcast if given a choice. Comcast's customer service from what I've experienced has been absolutely terrible and they seem to have more outages and issues with their service than I've experienced with Mediacom.
