    Harrison Barnes..in track?

    Someone told me that Harrison did a long jump not to long ago at an Ames track meet and jumped like 23 feet. This person also told me he jumped 6'2" in the high jump. True? Can you even just join a track team randomly like that

    There's no way Barnes couldn't jump more than 6'2" if he were actually in track.

    Wasn't he always on the track team. I remember reading an article about his recruitment and he said that he was concentrating on track and field more than recruiting.

    Legit chance he wins long jump. He qualified for state in both high and long.

    Just as a comparison, future Cyclone volleyball player Hannah Willms jumped over 6 feet in the high jump. And the state qualifying jump for all 3 classes was 5 feet or less.

    Surprising he couldnt do more than 6'2", but if he's never practiced I guess its ok. 2 recently former Clones are one of the few Iowans that have made it over 7 feet, the one Clark Twin(Marcus or Marlon, forget. What up DPORT!) and Ames' Andy Kohler.

    I think he means all of a sudden some dude says" I'm gonna do track this week despite the fact that the season has already started", then compete in a few events that you should be very good at but in reality you are just ok. Good thing we didnt offer him a track scholly!

    Coincidentally (perhaps), the school she is from, Dike NH, also had the #1, 2 and 3 best boy long jumpers in the entire state!

    They went 1-2 at drake relays, then another kid jumped at districts and they went 1-2 at state too. Rule only allows 2 entries per team.
