    Living in a stadium?

Okay, I just found this story. It sounds like the I-Cubs are thinking about building condos or apartments above the Cub Club and sky boxes in left field. So, would you or would you not live in a sports stadium or arena? (and if so what are the chances you could talk your significant other into going along with it!)

I think that would be absolutely amazing. You'd get to watch all of the games and see several players who will be in the bigs in the not-too-distant future. I wouldn't mind it at all! The only drawback, I would assume, is that the cost would be astronomical.

Very interesting. A person could get out of bed, go to the window and watch the game. That doesn't suck.

Noise/annoyance could be an issue. They have other stuff there though, don't they?

If only this was done at football stadiums, I'd be all over it!

I've played in several small-college stadiums where dorm rooms overlook the field. My freshman dorm room was on the 40 yard line right behind the visitor's bleachers 3 stories up. Too bad I was always on the field but we had several people watch games from our room. We could have charged luxury suite prices.

When I saw this on the news last night they gave a price range of 200-500k.

    Re: Living in a stadium?

I would think that the most logical owners of those would be businesses so they could host clients or have outings. Most of the owners would probably not live there year round. You'd probably have to be very well off financially and have a tolerance for all the distractions that come with having a condo that looks out over a ballpark to make that you main residence.

I wouldn't even have to put on pants to go to the game! Awesome!

I could only imagine a guy and his girlfriend just going to town right behind the center fielder.

I think the Bluejays use to have condos in their stadium.

LOL, there is a renovated apartment building downtown here caddy corner from a new building we just built that apparently one of the tennants is an "exhibitionist." I've never seen it when I've been in that building but there have been reports from people that she's not shy and leaves the blinds wide open for all to see. Coincidentally one of the VPs has his desk right in that corner of the building that would have a pretty good view so we all wonder if he knows this too or not.

Petco Park in San Diego has a couple high-rise apartment buildings overlooking the stadium, some of the players live there.

I don't know of a stadium that has dorms above the stands, but I know that the University of Arizona's football stadium has dorms underneath the grandstands. LINK.

I think Skydome has a Hard Rock Hotel built into the outfield section. Jose Canseco hit a home run off the hotel once during a game there. Also, I remember a few years ago a story about a couple getting it on in a room facing the field with the drapes open. Could be a competitive advantage when the opposing team is at-bat.
