    Re: really?

Look at our schedule. Baylor has a tough schedule too, but they have more to look forward to than we do with RGIII coming back. This is going to be a rough year for us, you may as well accept it now rather than be disappointed later on.

Last season was supposed to be rough and there were also a couple of games that could have gone our way, therefore I reject their premise. I like our chances of going bowling this year...or maybe next January...

    Re: really?

Why do so many fans insist on the "This schedule is so brutal" and the woe is is us mentality? Does expecting to lose really make the season that more enjoyable?

    Re: really?

If Baylor had Griffin playing, we could have very well lost to them. But again, look at our schedule. If you are anyone that is not an Iowa State fan, you are looking at the following games as loses: Iowa, Utah, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Texas, and Nebraska. I don't think the espn blog is that far off.

Me, too, but I see where they'd be coming from.
Our offense didn't light up the world last year. I know we had a new system and tons of injuries, but they won't dig enough into the ISU story to know that.
Our defense replaces a ton of guys, so they'll just do the standard write-up about the challenge of replacing so many guys, including all-Big 12 linebacker Jesse Smith, and assume we won't likely have a defense.

For my money, I think the offense will be much better, and the defense has shown how quickly Wally can put one together. Now he has less experience to work with but more athletic ability. I assume that we'll be OK on that side.

But, I'm guessing that this article is just the standard write-up we'll see from everybody heading into the season. No real big deal here.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

Agree and have said that statement many times. UNI will be no slouch either, they will come at us.

Because some of us are realistic? Its great to be rainbows and unicorns all the time, but some of us actually want to project the upcoming season based on what we know right now, not what we hope will happen. I don't understand why some fans on this board want to bust on those of us who don't predict 8 wins each season.

And there were a couple of games that went our way that could have gone the other way. So I reject your premise.

I was a victim of a series of accidents, as are we all.

Wait, what do you know? You mean what you predict.

I know, as well as everyone else, that we're replacing a LOT of starters on the defense. A defense that kept us in games because the offense struggled so badly more often than not. I'm not sure how anyone can expect our defense to hold serve with what it did last year and have our offense magically make huge strides of improvement, because with the upcoming schedule that's what it will take to get back to a bowl game.

    Re: really?

I still have high hopes for the season. Our offense should be much, much better. We have a great O-Line and an amazing Running Back. We also have a great group of Wide Outs.

    Re: really?

We need ARob to stay healthy all year. If he stays healthy (along with minimal injuries elsewhere) I see us being in every game we play.

It could be read that you "busted" on the OP first.
