i think maybe if he could concentrated on being an OL coach he may have been ok...but he could not call plays and coach the OL at the same time thats for sure. im not sure he couldve called plays anyways. he was a good OL coach in the past...he needs to stick with that.
I was told yesterday that part of the reason Stephenson didn't get drafted was because he was being bad-mouthed by the Minnesota coaching staff and even got bad references by McGettigan(sp). Basically he was told by Cleveland that they knew he wouldn't get drafted so they would offer him a free agent contract after the draft. I forgot that he transferred here from Minnesota until yesterday.
Same person said that Stephenson made comments to someone that he learned more in the three weeks he was around the current OLine coach then he did the whole time with Cotton & Co.

If only we could go back in time had have hired a different OC instead of Cotton. I wonder what could have been...
I honestly think we would have 2 Big 12 North Championship trophies. And that makes me angry and sick. People liked to bash McCarney for the terrible play-calling when the fact of the matter was Cotton was calling the plays.
First off Ben Cotton is not even Sniffing ISU right now. Would you go buy something from a company that just fired your father. I know I would not. Second if Ben Cotton is a Cyclonefanatic user he is probably a loser like the rest of us so I don't think we should recruit him.
