Re: Pollard's Comment's on Expansion Talk

There's already a thread about the subject (although maybe not the article).

There really must be a lack of good editors out there. It's Rhoads. Not Rhodes. .

Why do you ppl get so bent out of shape about the spelling? Don't you have more important things to worry about? There are obviously 100 different ways to spell Rhoads' name. Relax

Kind of like how Hawk fans get bent out of shape about the pronunciation of Ferentz. More annoying than the mispronunciation itself!

I don't think he was taking you to task; you never mentioned Rhoads in your post. The reporter in the story used a quote from Paul "Rhodes". I believe he was calling the reporter and/or their editor the idiot.

    FAIL

Misspelling the surname of ISU's head FB coach when you're in CR is unprofessional and lazy not to mention disrespectful.

I don't know about idiot but an editor's job is to catch mistakes like this.

Re: Pollard's Comment's on Expansion Talk

Plus I dig the use of ' in Rhoads' name. Spelling and grammar tell a lot about the person using it, all right? See how I said "all right" instead of "alright?" An editor would catch name spelling so people don't think his writer is bush-league. OP: ur post is cul!

Do tell how. I want to make sure to mis-pronounce it to the next hawk I encounter.

They like it when you pronounce fur-ents

“It’s beyond pride. It’s a restored trust. There’s a confidence again, a passion that teeters on swagger. More than anything, (Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoads) has restored the Iowa State “it” factor, the steadfast belief that it is great to be a Cyclone...the man’s enthusiasm is genuine to the core...”
