Help on getting dead rodent smell out of dryer?

Hey guys and gals, I could really use some help on tips or tricks on how to get the smell of a dead mouse that got in the lint trap of my dryer. I took the dryer apart and got it out of there, but the smell is still lingering. I have tried disinfectant and I have some odor eating candle things down there right now. Any ideas would be great or past experiences.

    Thanks.

It's going to take some time. Hang your clothes out to dry for awhile, dry only the wife's clothes in the dryer until smell gone. :) Find good set of earplugs.

As far as depth goes though, the combination of White, Woodbury, Olaseni, Basabe, and Uthoff is much better than Niang, Ejim, Edozie, Gibson. Not because of the top 2, but because of the next 2 or 3. -DeanVogs

Why are you dealing with this? Laundry is a woman's work. Tell her to fix it.

JUST KIDDING!! I like to do laundry, dishes, fold towels, and buy the unmentionalbes all by myself at the grocery store. I'm metro.

If you give a mouse a dryer sheet....he's going to want to kill himself.

Ack! Reminds me of the dead chipmunk that had crawled into the vent and got cooked just inside my dryer. Had an awful smell coming from the dryer and when I pulled the vent pipe out of the back of the dryer there was Mr. Chippy. He was still moving but it was just the thousand maggots crawling around on and inside him. Too bad we donít have a puking emoticon that I could add here!

That was some time ago but I think used a liberal dosing of Lysol and than some dryer towels and ran it for a time to air it out.

I had a similar situation. I put a couple pounds of hamburger in the microwave to defrost....A month later couldn't figure out what the smell was, opened the microwave and found I had a small city living in there. Threw microwave away.

Spray Febreeze as often as you can. I know it kills odors.
