Seneca Wallace to play significant role for Browns

Canton Rep - Quarterback Seneca Wallace will likely play a significant role for the Browns this season.

"Regardless of how it works," coach Eric Mangini said when asked if Wallace could be the team's starter.

"Seneca's going to have plays in there where he'll be involved, and maybe he'll be involved with Josh (Cribbs), and we can have some fun with that."

So.....he's not sure who the starter is. Just say that because everyone knows it.

Anyone who saw Jake Delhomme play last season could tell you Seneca will see plenty of time.

He will see the same amount of time as he saw in Seattle IMO.

Now that MBB is back, do we still have to pretend that WBB matters?

Good for Seneca. It's nice to see a hard working, dedicated young man getting such a wonderful oppertunity like this.

Of regardless of the score of the game, so long as you try your best you are a winner in my book, but I do hope he will be a "winner" on the record books too. Terrible I know, but what can I say? I have a soft spot for former ISU athletes

I agree. Minus all the fluffy kitty puppy stuff, though. But, I hope Seneca gets a shot. It's now or never for him.

Jake "feet of stone" Delhomme will be slaughtered behind their line. I can't imagine a scenario where Seneca doesn't get significant playing time. Of course, I'm an eternal optimist too.

Didn't the Browns draft Colt McCoy? I could seem him taking over the starting role by the end of the season. I'd love to see Seneca beat him and Delhomme out though. I think he could do it if he is given an equal opportunity.

Holmgren has all but said McCoy isn't even sniffing the field this year unless things with Delhomme/Wallace go horribly wrong.
