    U.S. World Cup Roster Selected

Well, the provisional one at least:
.:: Yanks Abroad - European Soccer, Made in America ::.

It's too bad Davies had such a terrible set back last September. We finally had a forward with some pace and quickness.

England included a few interesting selections in the training roster. Ledley King? Wow. Also, no Becks. Not a surprise for those of us who follow soccer but for the casual fan it may be relevant.

By Becks are referring to Beckham? That isn't surprising to anyone, I wouldn't think.

Yes, Beckham. The casual fan who doesn't watch soccer may have been surprised. Until his injury at Milan over the winter, he still very much had a shot at a 4th World Cup.

Heck, maybe England can still wheel him out onto the pitch late in the game and he can swing-in one of his patented free kicks from his wheelchair.

The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.

Wayne Rooney? If so, yes he was selected and he is definitely one of the best. Although, he hasn't played for several weeks now due to his injury.

Regardless, it should be fun when we play the Brits in June. Man, I can't wait!

June 12 is still too far away.

I don't know the extent of Wayne Rooney's injury, but if he isn't ready to play a month from now, that's going to greatly help our chances in springing the upset.

even if this is the case, USA should get through the round robin with little problem. I have a British bar down the street from me that I'm going to watch the game in, and then probably get punched in later.

Well, there ya go. It looks like Rooney will likely be playing...in fact, it's been guaranteed on Cyclonefanatic, so it's pretty much a sure thing.

    Should be fun.
