Staten no longer an ISU verbal commit

    According to Matt Perault's tweet:

    sportstalkmatt
Creighton?? RT @ebosshoops 2012 wing Wesley Staten is back on the market again. Iowa State will continue to recruit, but no longer a verbal.

I assumed he wasn't a verbal for about 6 months now...no matter what he said. I don't blame him for taking a look.

Not a shock...this was going to happen with GMac of FH at the helm. Will have to see what happens.

Quick question: I don't follow the recruiting stuff as closely as many on this site. Do we have a recruit that has changed his mind from ISU to Creighton?

Recently I guess P'Allen Stinnett did. He was released from his LOI when Morgan was fired and ended up at Creighton.

Re: Staten no longer an ISU verbal commit

Whatever makes Matt happy. What a tool he is.

I don't consider any 2012 verbal commitment to be worth much of anything at all anyway.

My guess is that if Staten doesn't want to come to ISU, FH will have plenty of other options available to him. And most of those options probably will not carry near the baggage either.

Re: Staten no longer an ISU verbal commit

Guys, it is not a surprise that Staten is looking around. The actual surprise, in case you didn't notice it, is that Freddy/TJ kept ALL OF MAC'S RECRUITS FOR NEXT YEAR. That is a five for five homerun !!!

Staten may be back, who knows? If he wants to look around and decides to come back we should welcome him. He is also a long way off and perhaps Freddy can find someone better in the meantime. So, both sides and get to look around and make sure this is best for all. In my opinion we have more immediate needs like who is going to back up DG next year. Staten is 2 years off maybe 3 before he starts/see significant playing time.

More close to how Boozer was handled. A mutual break-up.

NHL teams need to be added to the favorite teams section.
