    ROME

Would it be funny, or is it just me if we could somehow get Jim Rome to be an Honorary Cyclone this year vs. Iowa, I would give him my ticket..

I don't agree with everything he says... but he does a great interview. Also has a knack for setting up interviews with the athletes I like to hear from.

    Re: ROME

Rome is awesome. Like he says, give him two weeks and you'll be hooked. I like the national shows a little better than local.

    Re: ROME

When Rome's show goes off the air, Fox Sports radio will be a better place. The sun will shine, butterflies will flutter, children will dance, roses will bloom.

And I'll host a party at my place - beer will flow freely.

Yeah, just ask him. I love it when he tells us how great the interview was: "Epic interview." I stopped listening to him after the Eustacy debacle. A caller mentioned it to him right when the story broke locally, and he didn't want anything to do with it. Then the next day, when it really took off nationally, he was all over it. He's a hack.

    Re: ROME

Count me on the side of the Rome fans. His golf interviews are great, expecially any with Steve Elkington or John Cook. I can't wait for the Smack Off Friday!

Another thing I can't handle about Rome is the callers...I would rather listen to nails on a chalkboard.

    Re: ROME

The best thing that Rome ever did was get smacked by Jim Everett for calling hom Chrissy Everett. He is a hack. His showed has not changed in 10 years. Insert more papershuffling and extra long pauses where needed.

    Re: ROME

Does a great interview? Or gets great guests?

That latter I agree with. The former is just flat out wrong. Show me an interview where he DOESN'T simply introduce the guest, let him talk for 3 or 4 minutes to start, then regurgitate what the guest just stated - but in question form?

Of course it's no different than his commentary - just repeat the exact same thing for 15 minutes.

And the callers - Oh Dear God! A bunch of gangster, hip-hop wannabies. You can just hear them reading their written-down, 2 hour rehearsed "takes".

Top 5 television moment - Jim Rome getting trounced by Jim Everett.
