    Rhapsody/Napster

Anyone use either of these services? I guess i'm trying to figure out what exactly you're paying for.

Napster - Unlimited online listening, and depending on the plan, you get 5-60 free mp3 downloads a month. Stream Music, Download MP3s, Top Songs, Buy Music — Napster

Rhapsody - Unlimited online listening on your computer, or mobile device. Also says that if you have any iphone(i do) you can download to your phone and listen. Are you able to get the songs off the device? Rhapsody Free Trial - Pricing and Plans

anyway, just wondering if these are worth it at all, doesnt seem like it to me but maybe i'm missing something.

    Re: Rhapsody/Napster

I had Rhapsody for a few years. Great way to try listen to tons of new music without it costing you too much. However, with last.fm and other similar sites out there you can get most of the content for free.

And everything is streaming as far as I know. You don't get to keep anything once you quit your subscription.

    Re: Rhapsody/Napster

I have Napster and pay $14.95/month. Most songs are available to download for free to an mp3 player. Some cost $.99. For the most part, I can listen to every song I want to for about $20/month...usually less. I would recommend it...

This is the case with Rhapsody. It's a great service that allows you to listen to anything you want, but you are not buying anything that you get to keep.

    Re: Rhapsody/Napster

I bought my son a Napster gift card for his birthday, and every song he wanted to download to his PSP was on there. I've used Rhapsody in the past, and had problems with it crashing in the middle of burning cds, and when I went to reburn them, it charged me for it again. Needless to say, they are not highly recommended from me.
