    Surgery possible for Adrian Peterson

    NFL Truth & Rumors link

The Vikings are expected to determine in the coming days whether they want top draft pick Adrian Peterson to have a plate inserted into his collarbone to aid healing. Peterson and coach Brad Childress have insisted the running back will be ready for training camp and will participate in next weekend's rookie minicamp. But they have been less resolute on how they will handle Peterson's collarbone, which he reinjured during the Fiesta Bowl.

Did I hear also that Ginn Jr is probably going to miss camp etc for a foot injury?

    Maybe...yet it's being denied...

The Dolphins are not concerned about Ted Ginn Jr.'s midfoot sprain that has nagged him since January and will keep him out of the team's minicamp. But questions about the injury remain. The Dolphins denied a report Sunday that Ginn Jr. would be in a boot for six weeks and then require a six-week rehabilitation.
    Miami Herald

ESPN link stating Ginn may not be ready for camp

Ginn said he doesn't regret the end zone celebration, which sidelined him for the rest of Ohio State's 41-14 loss.
"Going back doesn't do anything but give you bad memories," he said. "It was the national championship. Guys have never been there before. We were just excited. It was nobody's fault."
I wasn't aware it was the end zone celebration that he injured himself on. Wow...that's almost as good as the Redskin QB that rammed his head into the padded wall in celebration after a TD and missed a few games with a sprained neck!

yep, he is still in a boot, i am pretty sure he either had some ligament damage or broke his foot, because he has been in a boot for a while

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

It's not broke. It's that weird foot injury (strange name I can't recall). It does have something to do with the ligaments and/or pad of the foot.

It's the type of injury that actually has the potential to never heal and be a pain throughout one's career.

That's the one. ESPN was talking about it when he was drafted I think.

Re: Surgery possible for Adrian Peterson

The Peterson surgery is not that big of a deal. My freshmen year of high school I broke my collar bone in 5 places and had to have surgery. I now have a metal plate and nine screws. I recovered in six weeks with an even stronger shoulder. He may feel some sting on contact for a their first 4-5 months but after that he will be fine.

I don't have any experience personally with collar bone injuries, but he is going to be playing in the NFL, there are some pretty heavy duty collisions in that league from what I hear.

I have a buddy who had a serious collar bone injury and was told by his doc to stop mountain biking due to the possibility of permanent damage, etc. I don't know the specifics of Peterson's injury, but I think it is something that could definitely come back to haunt him in his career.

Some guys can handle it some guys can't. I wonder if Rodgers (Lions) breaking his had something to do with his non-impact in the NFL.

I like AP...I hope he recovers and has a good NFL career - even if it is for those purple no-trophy-having Vikings.

as long as he sucks against the packers i hope he has a good career.. i was really hoping the packers would have made a move to go up in the draft to get him, but owell..
