Big 10 & Big 12 realignment on Miller & Deace

Big 10 gets Nebraska, Mizzou, and Rutgers. They move to two divisions and Iowa, Nebraska, and Mizzou are in the same division. So that means that those three teams have games against each other every year, talk about a money gain.
The Big 12 will get Boise State, BYU, and Colorado State all in the north.

Seems pretty logical but I am no expert.

Why would we take three teams if we're only losing 2? And IMO, if the Big 10 goes to 16 we absolutely have to go to 16 if we're going to have a viable league.

I think adding Cincinatti would be better for the overall competitiveness. Colorado State does not excite me whatsoever.

In the above scenario, the Big 10 would have 14... Also, im guessing this is assuming Colorado goes to the pac 10

Re: Big 10 & Big 12 realignment on Miller & Deace

I will again contend that anyone suggesting Colorado State just sees the word Colorado and State and figures it must be a big time football school which IS NOT THE CASE. Go there sometime before you start talking stupid people. It is a small stadium with an INCREDIBLY local market. Think UNI. Plus it is in a state that doesn't care about college sports. It certainly won't capture the "Denver market" as that is KU and NU land. I bet Iowa has more fans in the Denver area than CSU. Go to a game watch at the sports column sometime to find out. This is just 2 hawk fans talking about something they no nothing about other than they want to rape the BigXII.

Why not have the Big 12 go after Notre Dame then, since the conference doesn't share revenue. Then pick up Arkansas and BYU or Utah.

Here's a short interesting article at espn about expansion regarding the directors cup.

I guess i'm in a different boat since I have family that goes to CSU and are part of the faculty. However, I think CSU has been beating Colorado pretty consistently in football lately. Granted Colorado hasn't been great lately, but hey it would bring another rivalry into the Big 12.

that does nothing in the way of tv sets for the Big 12. I started a thread on Big 12 expansion with some ideas for teams that would increase viewers and with an eye towards developing a conference network. Its debatable about number of teams but you have to add more viewers and markets.

If they were ever both candidates (which they shouldn't be) I would say sure why not. CSU gets you fort collins and that is it. Wyoming gets you half that town anyway.

That would be a little wierd, having 2 teams with a cowboy mascot, in the same conference.

It does include Colorado going to the Pac-10 according to them it's a lock that they're going.
