Jim Walden says Pollard's selection of Hoiberg is a

slap in the face to coaches. Coaches will be looking for Hoiberg to fail because if he succeeds, it will show that you don't need to have coaching experience to have a successful basketball program, he said this evening on Two Guy's Named Jim, WHO's basketball talk radio show.

In fairness to Mr. Walden, I am paraphrasing here, and am anxious to listen to the podcast and quote Walden ver batim, and edit this thread if necessary.

I think even the paraphasing of his statements, says more about Jim Walden than it does about Jamie's decision, other coaches attitudes, or Coach Hoiberg's abilities.

Good. Because pretty much everything Walden says is a joke.

Well, I guess we should listen to JW... you know... considering all of his magnificent success and history of doing great things.

Jim Walden had the record that led us to Dan McCarney. He almost made it over the hump with our program, but then he fell completely off.

Went from a wide-open passing attack to a triple-option attack despite the fact that we had trouble fielding one quality running back at the time.

Must be a good hire then. Why this man is this man still allowed to do a show in this state? Got to love a show where both hosts dont even live in the state and dont even do the show in the same studio. Jim had all kinds of experence coaching, how did that work out for him? Just because you havnt coached before doesnt mean you dont have experence.

Walden was the greatest coach in ISU football history.... Look up his record. I love that man. He took us from crap status and took us to dried up crap status.

We're all grateful for Oklahoma State.

If only there were message board archives to follow that game.
