    Finals

Well it is that most wonderful time of the year again. That semi-annual, joyous, week we students, and those former students refer to as Finals Week. For me F.I.N.A.L.S. stands for F*** I Never Actually Learned this ****.

I've been trying to study some for a final I have on Monday, but it seems that my studying has coincided with my most active day on CF to date, so obviously things are not going very well.

Anyone have any good study techniques they used? Or memorable finals stories?

    Re: Finals

I grow a finals beard. It starts on the Monday of dead week, and it stays until my last final is over. Gets pretty thick. I must be 1/4 Hungarian or something.

It sure hasn't helped my performance, but I felt like doing something.

    Re: Finals

I actually had one of my finals cancelled, reason being that our instructor wanted to give us more time to work on our final project due the day of the "final", instead of wasting more time studying.

My finals schedule includes 2 on Wednesday (Acct 284, Hist 222) and now 2 on Friday (NREM 120 & Econ 353). 353 was supposed to be on Wednesday but I had it moved since it was my smallest class on Wednesday.

    Re: Finals

I actually only have one final this semester. However, I have 4 Final Projects to make up for it, as well as creating and organizing my teaching portfolio to prove that I should get a license.

I know nothing about Animal Science, so I can't help you there. And what is NREM?

What's your major? You seem to have some pretty diverse classes.

Who do you have for 284? I had it last year with the Mazz.

Dude, reading that EE finals schedule brings back terrible memories. Nothing like failing EE 201 your first time to reassure you about the major you chose.

Just wait for electromagnetics (EE 302? maybe?) that sucked huge monkey balls, basically there is some magical relationship between electricity and magnetism and I sucked at understanding any of it.

But 5 1/2 semesters later I was a grad, we have a quote a few of my friends and I used to say "you don't have to be smart to be and engineer, you just have to not know when to quit" trust me, I just rammed my head into that wall until it fell down.

    good luck

    Re: Finals

All this talk about finals makes me feel old! It has been 10 years since I took any of those...

Cheer up guys, once school is over life gets nice and boring, and then you have kids and that is 10x harder than school ever was.

You know you can get one on a different day right? That could take care of some of the suckiness. Just pick the one with the smallest class size.

NREM = Natural Resources & Ecology Management. Very exciting stuff let me tell you.

My major = Agriculture Business with a minor in An Sci. That is why I take 214 and I have 284 with Whittle this semester and 285 with her next semester. Both are required, as was NREM 120.

    Re: Finals

Price, I have several friends who have Whittle, and let me tell ya she hates teaching the introductory Acct courses. I lucked out and got Clem for 284, but next year I'll have my taste of Whittle, and I'm not looking forward to her. Hopefully I won't have her for any more business classes as I'm and Acct/Fin double major. Anyone know if she teaches other courses besides 284 and 285?

I think she takes 386. But 284 & 285 are the only classes I need for my major.

I actually liked her, I'm going to get a B+ in the class but it is really only my fault I'm getting it.
