If we can get him on a visit I would say pretty good.

We were high on his list early, he told his brother we would be heavily considered if we won a bowl game last year. Low and behold we do, but then Florida jumped into the game...

    Re: Curt Maggitt

We are in on him. I would expect that we will always sort of be there. I think it will be very important that we get him to ISU early to have a chance. While we had a great year last year all things considered, we need to continue that this year. If we knock of TX or OK, I think we significantly improve our chance with not only him, but all the "big" recruits. Obvious, I know. Roosevelt will, of course will be positive because seemingly everyone loves PR. In the end, though, he is ESPN 150 and every team in the game will likely offer him so I give us a 20% chance.

It's all snark from here on out

I think that a key would be Roosevelt having a fun year. If he can get playing time and steal a starting spot, we may be able to sell the idea of playing on the line with his brother.

Gotta take a step forward as a team or else no chance IMO.

Bingo! If we don't make a bowl game this year, I bet he looks elsewhere.

Playing with your brother does not trump playing on a team where you can be "noticed" by NFL scouts.

However, say he goes to a Florida-type school... he runs the risk of being buried on the depth chart and never seeing the field too. Playing every down at ISU is MUCH better than not playing at all at a big time school. He will have to weigh that as well.

I think we have a shot, if he feels we are on our way up and that he will get lots of playing time.

If the NFL is his goal, ISU might be a better option than Florida. At ISU he still gets to play against top notch teams that will show how good he is. At Florida, he needs to be a NFL prospect just to see the starting lineup. ISU has sent plenty of D-linemen to the NFL. Guys get the chance to start right away and make their mark.

The only drawback that I can see is if we don't improve the other positions in the D-line then once he gets noticed, he will be double teamed. If we can bring in other big recruits then that would decrease the double teams.

good luck telling that to the 15 4-star and 4 5-star players that choose FL/TX/USC etc every year.

I guess some guys would rather be 6th string at USC than all-big 12/BMOC at iowa state...
