Jeffery Jordan will walk-on at Illinois

    Chicago Tribune

    Weber's best recruit.

Does bring tremendous exposure. I even think he can break the starting line-up due to Weber's challeniging recruiting style.

That is an absolute great thing for Illinois. They get the publicity of the name, without having to give a marginal player a scholarship. I think that it is a win-win situation.

It cant hurt to have someone one walk on with the last name of Jordan. Its not like they are using a schollie on him and I dont get all of those people who wouldnt want him. He may develop into a decent basektball player and could have been someone like Chris Ceaser, come off the bench and play great defense and make a shot every once in a while.

ABSOLUTELY!!!!! That will guarantee 2-3 more ESPN appearances per year. Michael sitting in the stands, and the camera panning to him every 5 minutes. All of the games getting highlights on ESPN, just so they can show Michael in the stands. That is great pub for any program, and the fact that it didn't cost them a scholly is a huge coup for their program.

I never thought that he was good enough for a scholarship. But I thought that we should look at giving him one just for the possible benefits of name recognition. I think that it is especially important when you are trying to build something from the ground up like Greg is trying to do here.

The last thing he needs is a scholarship...he dad is worth over $300 million.

Illinois gives up nothing and gets tons and tons of advantages by this. I wish it was us.

Good. I am tired of hearing about this. I am glad it is over. Now if we can just get Stinnett to pull and Altman and come here we will have another old tired dead thread to bring up every other day.

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. - Benjamin Franklin 1775
