    Southern Illinois Player Releases

So a few of Southern Illinois' players have been granted releases from the program.

One is Anthony Booker who was #43 in the 2008 Rivals Top150
    Anthony Booker - Yahoo! Sports

The other is PG Kevin Dillard who was 136th in 2008 Rivals Top150
    Kevin Dillard - Yahoo! Sports

Dillard averaged about 12.5 points/game last year and was the 2008 Illinois Mr. Basketball for a "suburb" of Chicago.

    Any interest?

He just got done with his Sophomore year, and it looks like his shooting wasn't as good as his freshman year. Looks like his assists, points, assist to TO ratio, FT shooting was up but his 3 point % was way down

    Per Game:
    Freshman Year: 30.9 minutes, 12.2 points, 2 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.3 steals, 3.3 TO, 44.1% FG, 45.2% 3 Point, 72.7% FT, 2.5 fouls

    Sophomore Year: 28.9 minutes, 12.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, 5 assists, 2.5 TO, 1.1 steals, 42.3% FG, 32% 3 point, 77.3% FT, 2.5 fouls

Looks like when he was a freshman he had 10 points against Duke, 14 against UCLA, 16 against UNI, 22 against Drake

PG sure sounds solid but I've never seen him play.

    Re: Southern Illinois Player Releases

must say i haven't seen them, but i would agree with 06Panther. Reason being, if these two guys were any good UNI wouldn't have walked away with the MVC title.

06panther, you ready to take on mac twice a year in the same conference. Im interested to see who wins the recruiting battles between the two schools. Obviously, you may be a little biased, but do you think ben might have a hard time going up against mac, or vice versa?

I don't agree, but they are relatively young and fairly highly recruited coming out of HS...have some college experience and at least the PG has some decent numbers. Why not take a look at them?

I guess one major downside is the fact they probably couldn't play next year anyway
