Did McDermott himself take any recruiting trips

per that Iowa State Daily article, Chris Colvin mention he didnt know anything about McDermott, this leads me to believe that McDermott didnt have any time to take recruiting trips due to his son in high school and going to his high school games instead going to games with ISU recruits...

no wonder he didnt get along with most of the players for ISU

Colvin was a Robinson recruit not a TJ recruit.

Don't know if that makes a difference or not.

Chris Colvin's Quote to Iowa State Daily

“I don’t know too much about Mr. Hoiberg, but I didn’t know too much about coach McDermott, either,” Colvin said.

how could you not know much of your head coach you are going to play for, did McDermott ever went to Chicago to see his high school games or go to Utah to see one of Hamilton games

Re: Did McDermott himself take any recruiting trips

McDermott did go on recruiting trips (as every head coach does) but just like every other program the head coach is not your main contact. As a recruit you may not talk very often with the head coach.

Yes, we still harp on the junk of WM and LE too. The ghost of McDermott will be around a long time.

Pretty big assumption leap... When GMac started recruiting him of course he didn't know much about GMac. The same way he wouldn't have known much about ANY coach recruiting him. You think CC came to ISU despite GMac or maybe because of him?

I agree with this. Greg's priority was not ISU Men's BB. Now he can get what he always wanted. Good for him.

Is there a service we can call to get this cleared up?

After this last season, I was off the McDermott bandwagon but I KNOW this statement couldn't be farther from the truth.

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that. ~ George Carlin

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year olds life:
The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves Orcs. ~ John Rogers

Last year when Craig was thinking about going pro GMAC only contacted Craig once and it was right after the season. He never talked to him again until Craig told him he would be coming back. Most of our players didn't know what to think about GMAC.
