    I love this hire

After watching the Hoiberg conference, I'm convinced it was the right move by Pollard. While he may lack the coaching abilities right now, as long as he hires solid assistants, he should be golden.

With Hoiberg at ISU, and McCaffery at Iowa, we could FINALLY be seeing a return to exciting college basketball in the state.

Fred and Fran are going to make winters exciting in Iowa again.

I loved his comment on style of play. Yes we want to play up tempo basketball and get easy transition baskets but some games we will have to slow it down and grind it out when we need to. Quite honestly... there are some veteran coaches out there that don't understand that concept. (See... Bill Self against UNI )

No idea on the score but he whipped us good. That was an in between year. After Chris Street but before Casey Blake.

Have they dropped off that much? The State Title seems like it wasnt that long ago (getting old).

    Re: I love this hire

I would say that he has the ingredients to help make a risky hire like this work, but we'll have to see how it plays out. I'm still not excited about this hire, but so far Hoiberg and Pollard are saying all the right things.

Yeah, after coach Hansen left, the team sucks now.

I believe they were 2-23 or something ****** like that this year.

I was at this game as I am a '91 AHS grad. The score was 100-60, Fred had 39 in the first half including 8 3-pointers.

Casey Blake was on the team and I believe was a Junior that year. Didn't he graduate in '92?
