    Good luck from a Hawkeye!

I have a lot of great Cyclone friends, and wanted to take the time to wish you guys luck with the new hire! Hoiberg is a great man, and a great ambassador for the state of Iowa! If he can recruit (which has a lot to with who he names as assistants), he will do great. We will both be going through some trying times next season, but here is to getting better under the new leadership of Fran and Freddy!

Boo! go back to Iowa City scumbag!

Seriously, thanks. I think he's a very high risk hire, but only time will tell how it plays out. Best of the luck with Siena's old ballcoach McCaffery. I thought (much like McD) Lickliter was a great person, just didn't work out, sad he couldn't have brought iowa back to college bball recognition, but time for each of our programs to move on. Good luck on the recruiting trails as well!

Guards do better than centers in the Big 12.

I certainly agree with the sentiment. The more I think about this the more I think it could prove to be a deft move. Big risk, but big reward.

Iowa State now has three Cyclones coaching its three marquee sports...it's a great place to start.
