    Who's next?

Just throwing names out there. This is all speculation. No inside information at all. Keep that in mind when you read. Thanks.

    Re: Who's next?

Billy G!!! Although I'd be ok with Nurse, Otz, and LE...

I like the Mayor being part of this list as well. If we hire Nurse and Grayer stays on board, why not bring in Fred for another assistant? High basketball IQ right there...

Any reason why someone like Billy Kennedy isn't on your list anywhere? Just curious.

Maybe someone has mentioned it somewhere but I'm surprised that Keno Davis's name hasn't come up.

Chris, how about you go ask to borrow Gary Thomson's phone because you "forgot your's at home and need to make an urgent phone call", and then check his call-history!

Billy G. with Forbes as the top assistant would be huge. HUGE.

Because Marty Tirrell has mentioned Gillespie's name as the one I'd say 0% chance of being hired.

    Re: Who's next?

He is my two cents...ISU is in need of a real head coach. We need someone who can rebuild this program. I don't know if this is the situation that we want a first time head coach. My number 1 pick would be Lon Kruger but I honestly don't think that we have a chance for him.

Otz, Hoiberg, etc. might be alright next year, but down the road probably wouldn't be that great.

Hoiberg, Hornacek, etc. are not alright for any year IMO as a head coach.

Exactly. Grayer goes on that list as well.

If we hired one of these guys, it would scream nostalgia and not being able to pull in an actual head coach.

And if one of those guys didn't work out, then what?

Similar type of thing if LE were to come back, but I could actually get on board with it more because he's actually coached.

your posts are getting more and more funny...

As far as depth goes though, the combination of White, Woodbury, Olaseni, Basabe, and Uthoff is much better than Niang, Ejim, Edozie, Gibson. Not because of the top 2, but because of the next 2 or 3. -DeanVogs
