I'd bet that we at least talk to him.

I share some of the sentiments concerning Billie G. What I do not want is another Tim Floyd situation happening. By that I mean, we get a coach who accepts to coaching here, but somewhat reluctantly. Tim Floyd flat-out turned us down before changing his mind. That affected the entire time he was here.

Apparently, though, this is different. Billie Gillispe apparently contacted us. That indicates there is no reluctance, he wants to coach here. He would be a good hire.

Yeah, who'd want some decent success like happened under Floyd?

???? If Tim's results are how his reluctance "affected" us, I say we find an even more reluctant coach.

Totally agree. I don't want Billy G. The mess that comes with him, and the stuff that he creates scares me. Do not want to go through with that at ISU.

For rich people, rehab is a place you go because you got caught.

i have always been behind this hire. From back in January when I felt we needed a change. It's gonna take a lot of selling for a lot of fans given his history and the fact that we got rid of Larry for similar actions. However, that wasn't under Pollard's watch (Larry I mean) and with Bergstrom and his $$ behind this guy, I could see it happen.

However, I find it peculiar that three guys called Gary and he only mentions Billy. To me, that says there isn't mutual interest from Iowa State. Why would they say his name at this point if there was unless things are moving really quickly and he's likely the guy?

If I had to guess, I would say ISU isn't showing the same interest as Billy is showing. I would like the hire though.
It may be that the other 2 have jobs, and it is in their best interest to keep it private. Billy G definitely doesn't have that problem.

No to Billy. If ISU is willing to take on that drunken idiot then Larry needs to be on the top of our list above Billy. Neither one should happen in my opinion. Larry would open too many old wounds and Billy would create just as many with his baggage.

Or it is a place where you can get the help you need to realize that you have a problem.

    Is sex rehab real? NO

Is alcohol or drug rehab real? Yes.

Mr. Yoda - have you been to rehab or have you had a friend that needed and got the help they needed before they killed themself or someone they cared about? If not I think you need to avoid talking about this topic.

I'd be behind this hire 100%. Proven winner, had some time to clear up personal issues, and looking for redemption. He knows what it takes, he's done it before, and he's looking to get back on top. A&M went 0-16 before he showed up. 0-16. The next three years: 8-8, 10-6, 13-3. After our 3 straight 4-12 finishes, we need someone like this.
