    FYI on recruits

I talked with Melvin Ejim tonight.

I attempted to reach DeMarcus Phillips and Jordan Railey. Both attempts failed. I'll keep working on that over the next 24 hours.

What's the deal with McKnight and Godfrey? TJ dependent or not?

PS. Weren't you told to go to bed?

Yes, they are TJ guys. Not sure on the status with them and ISU. Will probably depend on where Otzelberger ends up but that's speculation. I haven't talked to anybody.

    Re: FYI on recruits

I would hold nothing against any recruit taking the "wait and see" approach, give the new hire a chance to reach out to you and resell the program to you again, if it's really not gonna be a good fit, i don't blame anyone for leaving. I just don't like when recruits automatically decommit or ask out when the head coach is fired. you are commiting to more than just that one man.

Alright. Cool. Thanks for all your work today. I only asked because I thought I saw someone post in one of the 10000 coaching threads that McKnight was staying regardless.

Excellent. He was the primary unsigned recruit that I was worried about. Now to get Ejim to stay....

    Re: FYI on recruits

It will be hard for some of these players to change their mind because there won't be many good options out there of places to go by now.

The Iowa guys haven't had trouble. Larson ended up at Florida and Fuller at USC...not bad options.

Hey, maybe we can run this train without a head whistle blower. Save some dough, pick a HC next year from the Huddle of Coaches.

There are actually quite a few teams looking to snag a decent player.

Yes. When some of these guys decide to decommit (some likely will), they'll get get trashed for it. But they shouldn't.

I too would not blame them for going elsewhere. Frankly, I'm surprised a few of them were still committed to us after the last few years.
