    Vikings Fans, you want Clausen?

We get the 2nd pick tonight. I wouldn't mind taking Clausen and hopefully if Favre sticks around have Clausen learn and observe under him. At the same time, we also need to get more youth in our power line positions.

Gotta have somebody to step in after gray beard leaves. I'd like it more because it would be a sign that Childress has given up his man-crush on Jackson, than because I have any particular hopes for Claussen.

Clausen at least played tough last year injured while losing his best WR in week 2. Had 28 TDs and 4 INTs. I'd take him.

I'd take him or McCoy. I think both of them could benefit from an Aaron Rodgers like situation.

I've been having mixed feelings about it. If you take Clausen, that gives Favre no incentive to come back. On the other hand, if Favre doesn't come back, and we don't have Clausen ...

Another reason I'm hesitant is because QB is the hardest position to draft for. There is no such thing as a can't miss star among them most years, as illustrated by the great many first-rounders who flopped. It's a crap shoot most years, when guys like Brady Quinn flop and guys like Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco, much less heralded QBs, become stars.

Clausen has too many question marks for me and next year's QB draft is much more deep and talented. I'd say find a CB with this first Vikings pick and go for a QB next year.

Meh, I'd be OK with that. I don't think he would be like Aaron Rodgers, but he would at least be ready to take over next year. I think Colt McCoy or Dan Lefevour would be better suited as they are the most "McNabb-like" QBs available and something that Childress could build his offense around. The move I really want to see be made is trade those two 2nd rounders for a 1st rounder next year - we have a lot of players to resign after this season.

    Vikings Expiring Contracts (2011):
    QB - Favre, Jackson
    RB - Tahi
    WR - Rice
    OT - Radovich
    OG - None
    C - None
    DE - Edwards, Robison, Mitchell
    DT - Pat Williams, Evans
OLB - Greenway, Leber, Erin Henderson
    MLB - None
    CB - Lito Sheppard
    S - Abdullah
    K - Longwell

Gotta get at Rice and Greenway resigned this year!

I don't want him. I don't think he is good enough. I don't think he brings a leadership and winning attitude to a team. How many QB's were losers in college and became winners in the NFL?

Huh? Clausen won't be an NFL starter for 2-3 years. Vikings drafting him will have no impact on Favre

I disagree with this. I think Favre knows the keys are his until he "retires" or shows he can't perform anymore.

Yeah because in green bay Favre sure mentored Rogers nicely. Favre doesnt even stay in the same locker room as the rest of the players.

Notre Dame's defense is what lost them games. The offense put up points.

I'd rather have Colt. Would love to take somebody else with the first pick of today (Dunlap, Griffin) and then get Colt later.
