Can he spell "recruiter"? This is not a sexy hire.

I would like to take this chance to revise my bball prediction for next season. I am now picking ISU to finish 11th in the conference.

I can't believe Wake Forest fired Gaudio after going 61-31 in three years and replaced him with Bzdelik who went 38-56 in three years in Colorado.

There must be something more to the Gaudio story.

The old colorado coach is great. He was building something there. Colorado spends nothing on there program.

Nobody but HB knows for sure. You pretty much know nothing....like Knownothing would like to say.

Greg better contact some of these players at CU to fill our bench since they may want to transfer, even in conference if allowed.

Don't understand how this is "good news" for ISU - Tad Boyle is a great coach. Played for and mentored by Larry Brown at KU, took Northern Colorado from 4-24 in his first year to 25-8 three years later, 12-4 in the Big Sky.
I had hoped he would have been in the ISU mix if Gmac was fired.

I would love to get Alex Mack. He is from KC and KU, MU and K-State had 0 interest in him. Then he was great during the year.

Tad Boyle melds lessons, influences of mentors to lead UNC to new level | Greeley Tribune

Who knows how this guy will turn out...he may be an Urban Meyer type guy that can continue to excel as he steps up the ladder or he may be a Greg McDermott type guy that can't.

Frankly, what is happening at CU should be irrelevant to us at ISU...but unfortunately since we now appear to be in a death struggle with CU and NU in the bottom quartile of the Big 12...this is "big news".

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

Many people are deemed great coaches. Two were from Butler. It may take two years to get rolling.

I kinda agree with this; plus Colorado is a tough job. It would be tempting to pass on them and wait for another offer that brings greater odds for success. Both sides - Boyle and Colo. - are taking a chance.

As someone that lives in Colorado and follows CU, this hire reminds me a lot of past hires of Tom Apke, Tom Miller, or Joe Harrington. I just don't see him getting it done at CU.

I don't understand how this is good news. Who would you rather have as ISU's coach - McDermott or Boyle?

I'm going with Boyle - at least with him there would be some chance of success.
