BYU player kicked off team for engaging in premarital sex

    or so this article implies....

Honor code violation: BYU runner Unga leaves Cougs - Salt Lake Tribune

How about that? No sex, alcohol, or tobacco throughout college or you are off the team? Man that would suck.

Harvey Unga is currently the leading rusher in BYU school history and would have returned this year to solidify that record.

He knew the school's rules when he decided to attend classes and play football there. Everyone and their uncle knows that BYU has a strict conduct code and is very conservative, with a 98% LDS student population and even students who are not LDS or not "strict" LDS have to follow the conservative rules.

Granted it was a long time ago, but those strict rules evidently didn't apply to Jim McMahon and Todd Christensen. They scoffed at the notion in a Sports Illustrated article. Possibly different rules apply to All-Americans...

Interesting note....pretty sure the girl they talk about in the article is Tony Moeaki's sister.

I remember HBO's Real Sports did players who transferred because they broke the honor code. The guy they interviewed (don't remember his name, but he was a running back and he transferred to Northern Arizona) he said that when he was being recruited, the coach told him without telling him that the coaching staff would basically look the other way and as so long as nobody connected to the university knew about it, they were basically safe.

Silly silly rules. How many of those enforcing the rules would actually abide by them.

We should get the kid to come here, I'd bet there would be some girls ok with having sex with him and CPR wouldn't casterate him for it.

    What a freaking joke!

Who would purposely attend an institution like that? Embarassing, welcome to the Dark Ages.

Oh look - Mr. Double-standard is back. "How dare you judge me about my views about sex" in one breath and "how dare you have diverging views about sex and how dare you have morals that differ from mine" in the next breath...

I've never understood how BYU is successful. Do they just have a corner on the small group of talented athletes who have no interest in sex, drugs, and rock and roll?
