As a MBB program, who is in better shape Iowa or ISU?

They at least have hope. However nobody goes to the games at Iowa so they won't be able to recruit.

Nobody but HB knows for sure. You pretty much know nothing....like Knownothing would like to say.

Re: Who is in better position?

Neither isn't really an answer, either A is better off than B or the other way around. I realize neither program looks good for next year but short and long term who is in a better position?

The program who made the coaching change, no doubt.

    Iowa, as of right now.

$42 million on new facilities, new coach, what seems to be shaping up to be an awesome assistant staff.

Re: Who is in better position?

I think it might be easier to make a list of schools who are not in a better position than Iowa State...

Re: Who is in better position?

Yeah, for next season the answer is probably neither (though, rumors have been floating around that Fran might be able to sign one pretty darn good east coast recruit here in the next couple weeks), however, for the long term, it is definitely Iowa....I assume that JP has to fire GMAC after next season, but after buying out a year (or is it two?) of GMAC's contract, I'm not sure what ISU will be able to afford to pay a new coach. On top of that, ISU will have nothing to work with. Iowa could at least offer some young potential on their team (and a solid recruiting class before half of it fell apart).

So, both programs are in dire straights, but Iowa has begun the healing process, ISU is going to go through another year of hell before their healing begins.

A lot of Iowa fans thought Alford was bad and that a new coach would be just what they needed to recover from his toxic reign.
