    Ed Thomas Trial

Mark Becker was sentenced to life in prison today in the murder of HS football coach Ed Thomas. He attempted an insanity plea but it didn't fly. Since death penalty was out of the question, I think justice has been achieved.

www.kcrg.com had a decent story on it. Their coverage throughout the trial was pretty solid.

It was in the Daily today that Becker's lawyer is requesting a new trial.

That's a bit silly. Not guilty via insanity will lead to a life confinement as well. The only difference is that he won't be at the mercy of other inmates.

I am watching this on OTL and I am just astonished at what great people the Thomas family are. I tear up everytime because it is inspiring. They are people we should all model our lives after.

THe Beckers said if the Thomas's weren't so forgiving, accepting, and gracious, then they would have to move.

    Re: Ed Thomas Trial

The way the Thomas's don't hold this against the Becker's is impressive. Lesser people wouldn't be able to separate that man's actions from his family.
